"great towers take time to construct"

With this, our second
intervention, we began to look at massing a tower
element on the southeast corner of the building. by creating
a volume with a height greater than any existing part of the
building, we hoped to increase its visibility from the
highway, as well as help us to start deciding the best
location for a tall element on the structure. the mockups
were created with 2x2x12 foot sections of lumber, clear and
black plastic sheeting, and roofing nails. the materials put
some limitations on the height and width we could achieve.
