The Alabama Rural Heritage
Center sits on the campus of the former Marengo County High
School. The school, which closed in 1979, is a
Historic site as the oldest standing County school in
Alabama.

The RHC temporarily occupies the high school building
during the construction of their new space in the former
vocational education building. The other portions of the
campus include a gymnasium and a football field, which is
now used as a garden for RHC products.
